Presents are always a good way to get me to update my blog. Sadly, pictures will have to wait, the camera battery is dead. Starting with the most recent first...
I just got a package today from my Cheap-@$$ Secret Pal (knittyboard exchange). The regular SP exchange was getting a bit extravagent, plus I mostly work on larger projects now. But it is fun to do secret pal exchanges, and this one is much more low-key, and more about fun eatables / drinkables / wearables / writables.
So, just opening the package now...
First impressions, things are very *red*. A definite theme.
Fast out of the starting gate, we have a compound-eye toy. (Now I have many *more* knitting books...)
Next, a knitting journal - very handy, now that I've started to do swatching and simple designing.
Coming up at the turn, we have two vine-ripened tomato bags (fortunately sans tomatoes!). Yarn bras!
A big contender, a craft and sewing organizer case. I was just moving things around on the yarn shelf, and was saddened by the ratty paper bag accomodations of the stitch marker supplies - I think they have a new home now.
Homestretch - a ball of red yarn! And the note says it is "recycled wool from a thrift shop sweater." It is a light fingering weight or thick laceweight, so either a lacey scarf on its own, or I think it will work well with a spindrift-weight for fair isle.
Wins by a nose - last out of the box, the note!
On second thought, I'm off to play with new stuff. More updates - jpknits RAK and my pal's first package in a future post.
